"Concepts are the essential understanding upon which Jahara is founded"
Mario Jahara
Concepts and Principles
The Five Concepts represent the mission statement present in the Jahara® movements and exercises, as well as in all human interactions created through Jahara®. The practice of Jahara® relies upon the Nourishing and Controlling Cycles of the Five Phases (or five elements) of traditional Chinese medicine, which relate to the Five Concepts. The Five Phases of Transformation provide an effective frame to understand the relationship between one Concept and the others, through the Nourishing and Controlling Cycles. The Concepts are: Support (Metal element), Adaptability (Water element), Expansion (Wood element), Effortlessness (Fire element), Invisibility (Earth element).

The method is built on these foundations (the 5 Concepts), which allow the Jahara® therapist to create sessions, selecting ActivExercises™ and Aligned Floating™ movements.
Each Concept is represented by two or three principles. Principles are the physical tools that materialize concepts: a concept is an idea, a principle is an action. Therefore, principles are more specific than concepts.
